Christmas is the
most prominent holiday of the year for Christianity, and thus
for a significant portion of the world’s population. It
celebrates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, the son of God.
Christmas is always a synonymous holiday for gift exchanging, a
custom that was prevalent from the early stages of the
religion.
Christmas is on
25th December for most branches of Christianity, but
on the 7th January for Slavonic Orthodox followers
(who follow the old Gregorian calendar).
For those who aren’t Christian you could still offer a Christmas
gift, since it is a holiday where peace is predominant and
harmony amongst all peoples is manifested. You could also give a
gift for New Year. New Year is an event that is celebrated
universally and a good gift would be symbolic of your wishes for
someone to have good fortune in the upcoming year.
